Hello! My name is Jordana and I am the owner of Craft Meets World.
I am a proud mother of 2 (3 if you count the chihuahua) and military spouse. My husband has been in the military for over ten years but he is finally getting out of the army soon. It's been a rollercoaster lifestyle with both good and bad times. I am happy to be closing that chapter of our lives and starting a new one in our forever home once we move to Oregon.
I have loved crafting for as long as I can remember. This passion has evolved into a love of crochet, sewing, interior design, party planning, photography, DIY projects, upcycling, refinishing furniture - you name it and you will probably find it on my blog as time goes by.
I started my own crochet business back in 2011 when I was pregnant with my daughter. I wanted to buy her some beautiful crochet baby items but decided I wanted to learn how to make them myself so it would be even more special. So, I went onto eBay to purchase a ball of yarn and some crochet hooks. For the next couple of weeks all I did was watch crochet videos on Youtube. Long story short, I'm in love with crocheting and I'm so happy to be offering my work to anyone who wants it. Click the 'shop' tab to view my work and place an order if you'd like to. I can crochet almost anything just by viewing a photo of it. I also offer various discounts so ask me about those as well!
I am a HUGE bargain hunter and thrift shopper so most of my entries will revolve around affordable DIY projects and crafts of all kinds.
We will soon be first time home owners and I plan on also blogging about our little adventures in learning how to be handy with carpentry and home improvements.
I'm not a big fan of baking, but from time to time you will even see me blogging about that. I like to plan really fun birthday parties for my kids and I've made the cakes myself every year so far. The end result might end up looking pretty neat, but the journey to get to that cute cake is usually a nightmare for me. That won't stop me from blogging about my baking, though. Maybe you'll learn from my mistakes and get your cakes right the first time once you learn what NOT to do after reading my experiences.
Once a month I'm going to try out and share a Pinterest recipe here on my blog in an effort to not only expand my list of choices for our meal options but also to share my opinions on how the meal turned out in case any of you were interested in making it as well.
As you can see, I have big dreams for this site so be patient with me as I take it one day at a time. I hope some of what I do can help inspire others to sew, cook, and create!
